HACHI: A DOG’S TALE
Today we will read out story today is about the American drama film in 2009 based on a true story titled “HACHI: A DOG”S TALE” directed by Lasse Hallstrom with a duration of 1 hour and 33 minutes starring Richard Gere (Parker Wilson), Joan Allen (Cate Wilson), and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Ken). The genre of the movie is Biography, drama and famly.
In the beginning of the story there is a boy named Ronnie who tells a story about his grandfather and his god. He call his grandfather’s dog Hero and explains why.
His story began about a puppy named Hachi from Japan, The puppy was sent to the United States but while travelling the buckle on which the address of the destination was written was torn. The currier also did not realize that his cage had fallen.
Parker a music teacher crossed paths shortly after. Parker thought the puppy was lost so he tried to leave it with the clerk because the owner might return it but he refused him so Parker was forced to take the puppy to his house.
He hid the puppy in the music room because his wife named Cate did not want a pet in their house but soon the puppy came out of the music room and entered their room and licked Cate’s foot. Cate was surprised by the presence of the puppy at their house so Parker explained what happened and said that he would return the puppy the next day where he found it because of this Cate allowed the puppy to stay their warehouse for now.
The next morning their daughter Andy is so happy with the puppy that she asks her parents to take care of it but Cate disagrees with her and says that it is only temporary and will be returned as soon as they find the owner of the puppy.
The next day, Parker took the puppy to a shelter but was turned away because the shelter didn’t have enough space. He takes the puppy back to the station and ventures that someone will find the puppy but he is frustrated because pets are not allowed on the train Parker hides the puppy in his bag and takes it to his work where he introduces it to his students.
Then he brought and introduced the puppy to his Japanese friend Ken and told him that the puppy’s names was Hachi and that it came from a very special breed of dogs called “AKITA”. Parker asks if Ken wants to take care of Hachi but he refuses because no one wants to take care of Hachi. Parker is forced to take him back to their house but while he and Cate are talking Hachi is tearing up the paper made by Cate so Parker immediately brought Hachi to the warehouse.
At night, Parker brought him back and brought him into the house because the weather was bad and they watched TV while eating popcorn. The next day Parker teaches Hachi to play ball while Cate and Andy happily watch them. Cate gets a call from someone who wants to adopts the dog but she turns it down because Parker will be sad if Hachi is gone.
A few years ago Hachi was big and he followed Parker to the train station Parker saw Hachi so he got off to take the dog and he left it with his wife. In the afternoon Hachi runs away and jumps the fence to pick up Parker so Parker is surprised when he comes out because he meets him.
The next day Andy visits with her boyfriend Michael and he and Parker talk. He also played ball with Hachi but Parker told him that Hachi doesn’t like to playing ball. Parker also told this to Ken so Ken told him that AKITA dogs are a different breed.
The next day Parker allows Hachi to accompany him to the train station and in the afternoon he will wait for him. Over time, the two got used to it and they always played on the road every time Parker went to and from work because Hachi had become a part of the family. Hachi couldn’t be part of the wedding phototgraph at Andy’s wedding.
One day Parker was surprised because Hachi didn’t pick him up so he went to Cate at work to ask where Hachi was but Cate didn’t know either. Parker immediately went home and caught up with Hachi in the warehouse who couldn’t get out because there was a skunk in front of him. Parker immediately covered it with cardboard so Hach could get out but he fell and the skunk urinated on him.
When Cate got home, She found Parker and Hachi taking a bath together to get rid of the smelly skunk urinated. A few days ago Andy came home to announce that she was pregnant. Cate and Parker are very happy with this news. While Hachi waited for Parker to continue massaging him. One night Parker surprised Cate on their wedding anniversary and talked about their future.
The next day Hachi doesn’t want to go with Parker and he scolds him as if he is preventing him from leaving because nothing good will happen because of this Parker decides to go to the train station alone because he noticed something strange about Hachi. Hachi took a ball and followed Parker to the station Parker was surprised by what he saw so Parker played ball with Hachi for a while.
Parker tells Carl and Jasjeet that the first time Hachi played ball with him before Parker left he hugged Hachi while Hachi watched the train leave. While Parker teaching his students he was not felling well so he sat down for a while but when he stood up he fell down and lost his life due to a heart attack. Whie Hachi was faithfully waiting for him until night so Michael picked him up.
The next day Andy explains to Hachi that he will take care of him because Parker is gone and he will never come back. As Parker’s family and relative gather for his funeral Hachi goes to the train station to wait so Carl approaches him and tells him to go home because Parker is not coming back.
After a month, Cate sold the house and packed her things while Hachi was taken into Andy and Michael’s house. One day Hachi ran away from Andy’s house and followed the train tracks until he reached the train station . At night Hachi sleeps on the abandoned train and in the morning returns to his place to wait.
The vendor Jasjeet always gives food to Hachi. Andy and Michael soon picked up Hachi from the station and brought the dog home. Andy realizes how much Hachi loves his father that even though he wants to take care of him he leaves him to go back to the train station, Andy opened the gate of her house and let Hachi before the dog left he licked Andy’s hand indicating that he thanked her.
Every day Hachi waits for Parker’s return and every night sleeps on the abandones train and in the morning returns to the train station to wait while the people around give him food because they love Hachi.
A year ago a reporter approached Carl who wanted to write the story about Hachi in the newspaper and since then Hachi’s story was published in the newspaper in the city many people sent help for him. One day Ken went to say hello to Hachi because he had read his story and he also told Jasjeet that Parker was his friend and he was thankful for the people who took care of Hachi.
Ken approaches Hachi and says that he also misses his best friend Parker. Time and time passed and Hachi was still faithfully waiting for Parker to return to the station.
Nine (9) years later Cate visits the place and their old house and Parker’s grave and Ken happens to be there too. While Hachi looks different because of his age and its getting weak but he still goes to the train station all the time and hopes for Parker’s return.
When Cate returned to the station, she couldn’t believe what she saw because Hachi was still waiting faithfully. While crying Cate hugged Hachi tightly and stayed with him for a few hours before leaving. At night while Cate visited Andy’s house she told Ronnie about Hachi and Parker being honest and close to each other.
While Hachi closed eyes and remembered the times he and Parker shared together until Hachi also passed away.
Ronnie also told his classmates that he feels the connection between his grandfather and Hachi. So ronnie also adopted a dog and named it Hachi and in the last scene it was shown that the two are walking on the train track.
Then the real story of Hachi who waited for (9) nine years and his statue at the Shibuya train station was shown and this is where our story ends. I hope you liked our movie.
