A Valid ID in the Philippines will undoubtedly strengthen security in various ways such as the correct identification of employees in a company. By, using photo cards, security officers can quickly identify each employee or visitor.
What are Valid IDs in the Philippines and How to get them?
1. Comelec/ Voter’s ID– A Voter’s ID card serves to quickly identify registered and qualified voters in the country.
How to get Voter’s ID card
- Go to your local Comelec Office and bring Valid ID with Photo and Signature. (National ID, Postal ID, SSS ID, NBI Clearance, Philippine Passport, Student ID signed by the School Authority.)
- The Election Official’s Office will verify your identity, residency and registrant eligibility.
- Fill out Three (3) copies of the application form with thumb mark and signature.
- Proceed to the biometrics area for digital captures of your photo, fingerprint and signature using a Voter Registration Machine (VRM) by an authorized VRM Operator.
- Get your acknowledgment receipt and visit the office again after a few months to get your Voter’s ID.
2.PhilHealth ID– is one of a kind and permanent number given to anyone who signs up for PhilHealth membership.
How to get PhilHealth ID?
Requirement: Two (2) copies of the PhilHealth Member Registration Form (PMRF), Two (2) 1×1 ID Picture, Photocopy of your PSA-issued birth Certificate or atleast two (2) Valid Ds.
- Visit the nearest PhilHealth Office or PhilHealth Express Outlet.
- Fill up the PhilHealth Member Request Form (PMRF). Note: PMRF can be downloaded online or get it in any PhilHealth Office.
- Submit your request form and requirements. Ask the person assisting what ID is available becasue there are two (2) IDs One (1) is Ordinary PhilHealth ID it is free and it is just an ordinary green card board that you need to add picture and laminate. two (2) PVC Digitize PhilHealth ID Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a strong plastic material used in professional ID card printing. (Php100.00 for printing)
- Get your PhilHealth ID and Member Data Record.
- For Ordinary ID, add your picture and sign the ID.
3.Philippine Passport– is a document issued by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).It is mostly used for international travel as exiting and entering the country.
Philippine Passport has a validity of ten (10) years, but when under 18 years old a passport is only given a five (5) year validity period.
Requirement:
All applicants should secure an online appointment when applying for a passport; Just visit their Homepage.

- PSA Birth Certificate
- At least one (1) Primary ID. (SSS ID, Driverr’s license etc) and atleast (2) Supporting Document (Postal ID, NBI Clearance, Police Clearance, Barangay Clearance, etc).
4. Postal ID– an identity card issued by the state-owned Philippine Postal Corporation. It is a valid identification document for Filipino citizens to use in availing themselves of various services and transactions.
Requirement:
- Two (2) copies of the Duty-accomplished. PID application form:
- Valid Passport
- GSIS or SSS UMID CARD
- Birth Certificate Issued by NSO or Local Civil Registry
- Valid Driver’s License
Requirement for Foreign Resident:
- Two (2) copies of the Duty-accomplished. PID application form.
- Proof of Identity
- Passport- Must be valid for 6 months prior to application
- Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACRI-Card)
- Long stay Visitor Visa Extension (LSVVE)
- Diplomatic VIsa
- Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV)

6.Philippine Identification (PHilID)– refers to a physical ID card that serves as a valid proof of identity that can be used for transactions.
How to get Philippine Identification
- Go to any registration Center and bring your supporting documents.
- Here are the places you can register.
- Validate you demographic data and your biometric information such as iris scan and fingerprints.
- Review and confirm your demographic and biometric informtaion.
- You will be given a transaction slip containing your transaction number (TRN).
7.SSS Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID)– is commonly referred to as UMID Card. The UMID Card is a 4in1 ID Card that Filipinos can use to deal with government agencies such as SSS, GSIS, PhilHealth and PAG_IBIG Fund.

- SSS Member who an active statues.
What do you need to apply for the GSIS UMID ID?
- The UMID card application form is essential to registration as a UMID card holder. The first step is to complete this form. Capital letters are required to fill up here.
- You need to show another valid ID s they know if what you wrote on the form is true.
Takenote: As of now, They haven’t made a UMID Card since 2023.
