The Crow
Today we will read the movie about soulmates who were brutally killed when they were overtaken by the demons of their dark past titled “THE CROW” directed by Rupert Sanders with a duration of 1 hour and 51 minutes starring Bill Skarsgard (Eric), FKA Twigs (Shelly), and Danny Huston (Vincent Roeg)
The film begins with young Eric who sees his horse dying because it was caught in a barb wire while his mother is asleep in a drunken state. He tries to help his horse but only injured his palms. Soon his beloved horse died. This is the memory of his past that often haunts his dreams.
The scene switches to the girl Shelly who receives a video from her friend Zadie who suggests that they use the video against the power Boss Vincent Roeg to make him responsible for all his evel. Shelly disagrees with the extent of her fear of boss but his staff found out that he had a copy of the video. Zadie said that both their lives were in danger and that their friend Dorm was the one who took the video.
Shelly asks Zadie to stay at home and wait for her but Zadie is worried that someone may have followed her. She was not wrong because when she entered her apartment there were bad people waiting for her. Marion was already inside Roeg’s right hand. She took her phone and checked who she sent the video to. She was drugged in the neck and then abducted. When Shelly felt bad, she immediately called Dorm to inform them that their lives were in danger because the video, before she left the house she hid the cellphone in a secret hiding place. She felt that someone was watching her actions while hurrying to walk she bumped into the police causing her to drop the bag containing only illegal drugs.
The police arrested her and later took her to a rehabilitation center while Eric is also currently a patient in a rehab because he tries to forget the bad experiences he had in life with drugs. Inside rehab he continues to be bullied by guards and fellow patients. The program was difficult for him but he was still able to follow the psychologist’s instructions.
One day he notices the new patients Shelly and immediately fall in love with the girl. However, relationships are forbidden in rehab. At a social Vincent Roeg who is known as a music lover met a good pianist while he was talking to the girl, Marion told him that they already had Zadie.
Roeg goes to the captive to ask were Shelly is, but she doesn’t know her friend’s whereabouts. Roeg says that he has killed many innocent people like Zadie whom he sent to hell because that was his deal with the devil to make him immortal. The girl begged to let her go but Roeg whispered to her like a demon after which Zadie’s eyes turned white and took the knife and drove it into her neck until she died. Roeg combined his own blood with Zadie’s blood and then looked up as if giving the girl’s soul to the devil.
Back at the rehab, even though it was forbidden Shelly told Eric while they were having breakfast that they immediately made up their minds. They often exchange glances and talk whenever they have the chance. One day Shelly passed by Eric’s room and saw the young man’s drawing some of the drawing resembled her. He also noticed Eric’s poems that could be turned into songs because she was good playing an instrument, Eric suggested that they could collaborate to create a song.
Soon there is an announcement that Shelly has guests that she did not expect. Eric peeked at the guests and told the girl that he saw looked like lawyers. When Shelly peeked in she was scared, she begs Eric to help her escape the visitors who are looking for her.
They run towards the laundry room where Eric pointed to a window that they could pass out of after Eric removed Shelly’s tracker he also removed his tracker. When the girl asked him why Eric smiled and said he didn’t want to be in that place anymore. The two successfully escape and then climb a fence and flee into the forest.
When they got to the road they managed to get into a pick-up car to a city. Shelly takes Eric to her vacationing friend’s apartment. Shelly says that Eric doesn’t need to stay there so he doesn’t fell sorry for her but Eric want to stay with her no matter what happens. The two get closer and take the opportunity to express their love.
They talk about love and realize they’ve been hiding from each other. Meanwhile, the police found Zadie’s body which was immediately reported to Marion by an accomplice police officer. This reached Roeg who was currently entertaining himself with the piano playing. The boss gives a final warning to Marion to find and kill Shelly because his reputation will be damaged if the video spreads.
On the other hand, the couple continues to enjoy their love, they were with some young people on a picnic at the camping site near the river. They walked and hoped to grow old together. They compose a song but when Shelly tries to use the piano she suddenly fells bad. Eric assured the girl that he would not leave her until death.
One night a club when Dorm sees Shelly he tells her that Zabie is dead he warns her and suggests they leave the city and run away. Shelly immediately pulls Eric and says she will explain everything when they get to the apartment. When they entered the hidden apartment they were attacked by Roeg’s men both of them were killed by the plastic they covered.
Their souls sank into the water between life and death and they were separated, Shelly ended up sinking under the water while Eric ended up in the afterlife. A place where souls await their judgement. There he meets Kronos a mysterious spirit who says that in ancient beliefs the crow carries the soul to the place of dead and when the soul carries to much sorrow it cannot rest.
The crow will guide him so that he can correct the wrongs of man in the world but Eric does not believe what is happening and tries to leave. Kronos advises him to come back to reality and wake up before he pushes him away. Eric falls into the water and wakes up in his apartment. He tried to find Shelly but she was not inside his room.
A few moments later, he heard the voice of the conspirator Marion was talking to on the phone to look for Shelly’s cellphone. The police noticed him and ordered him to get out. Eric complained that he didn’t know the reality and he couldn’t understand what was happening to him.
The police opened fire on him out of nowhere and he escaped.
When he went out into the street, Kronos said that he would be guided by a crow to fight the evil creatures in the world. When he got to the bridge he saw Shelly there ready to jump into the water he told her not to jump but she continued. He also jumped and again he saw Kronos. There he realized that he and his lover were both dead.
Again Kronos brought him back to earth. Eric visits his friend to get a gun the he meets with Shelly’s mother Sophia he confronts her about why she is in rehab with the people who killed her daughter. Sophia denied the allegation and said that Eric knew nothing about the people he was looking for.
Eric knows that Sophia is afraid to speak against Roeg, so Eric enters Shelly’s room and there he sees Shelly’s hidden photo and ID in Roeg’s organization. He went to Roeg’s office and outside he found the man who killed him. He asked the man what his boss name was but when the man reached for his gun he took it.
Eric took his cellphone and saw Marion’s name at that moment he saw Marion getting into the car with the staff. He approaches them but the man notices him and orders Marion to bend down. Eric crashed causing his body to enter the car. Inside, he wrestled with Marion’s men, who shot him several times, Eventually causing him to fall into the enemies car causing him to be hit by a large truck.
With the number of gunshot wounds and the truck crash Eric did not die. He got up again feeling the pain of the wounds he had on his body. On the same night, Roeg visits Sophia he wants to know why Eric visited her. Sophia says that Eric is willing to do anything to get Shelly back.
When Roeg heard that Sophia had repented and traded her daughter for treasure. He whispered her to send her soul to hell and soon Sophia jumped from the top of the building. Roeg returned to the car as if nothing had happened. There was the young pianist who felt fear from the witnessed incident.
Roeg informs Marion that Eric has been resurrected he order his right hand to bring the young man to him. Meanwhile Eric finds Dorm and accuses him of betraying his friends, Dorm says he met with Shelly to help her pursuers.
The frightened young man declares that Marion is only a servant and that the real boss is Vincent Roeg. It can enter the human brain directly and force it to do horrible things. Dorm said that he regretted talking the video that caused Zadie and Shelly’s death.
After talking, he let Dorm leave and then he went to Shelly’s friend’s apartment and there he remembered the happy moments he and Shelly had. Then he found the hiding place where the girlfriend’s cellphone was hidden. He watched the video where while Shelly was under Roeg’s influence she brutally killed her friend.
Eric could not accept that Shelly was able to kill an innocent person. He went to his friend to inform about what his girlfriend had done and he couldn’t get it out of his mind. Since that night, he seems to be confused if the love he feels for Shelly is true. At that moment Roeg’s men suddenly entered the room.
Right now Shelly’s soul is licked in eternal darkness while Eric will have is eternal life easy. Kronos advises him to let Shelly go but Eric asks to take his soul in exchange for Shelly’s safety. Kronos warns him that they will never have a chance to be reunited but Eric insists on his request that he is willing to endure eternal suffering to save his beloved.
After a while a crow suddenly flew above them. A crow seemed to join him as a sign of accepting his request Kronos combined his and Eric’s blood while saying the ritual words then Eric experienced great pain as black blood came out of his eye and he had of the ability to move between the world and the afterlife. Like a crow he is now free to give wisdom and get another chance to kill Roeg.
Eric come back to life and kills his killers with their own weapon he finds a message on one of their cellphones showing that Marion is waiting at the Opera house. He puts on scary makeup and carries a sword display on the wall before heading to Marion’s location.
At that time Marion reported to Roeg however the boss doubted what he said. The theater show started and Marion and his crew focused on the performance. Eric entered the theater and killed the guards in the building one by one. They tried to stop him but the knives or bullets had no effect on him as his wounds healed immediately.
Marion learns of the incident and immediately reports to Roeg thanking her for her long service. Meanwhile Eric reached Marion’s location and asked for Roeg’s location. When Marion said the boss address Eric beheaded her. Eric brought her severed head to the stage and threw it to the audience causing fear in everyone. He sees Shelly and remembers her desire to receive a bouquet of lilies.
He took some flowers and then left them on the bridge before heading to Roeg’s residence. Eric walked to Roeg”s room where he exclaimed that he was also made of flesh and blood.
In the afterlife Eric was more powerful than him. He was easily killed and his soul was sent to hell. Eric’s mission is over so Shelly’s soul float out of the darkness. She hugs Eric who says he can’t come back. Shelly refuses to go back to the world without him but they can’t do anything because of the agreement.
Shelly rises from the dead and sees Kronos in the form of a medic who tells her that Eric gave his life for her. In the afterlife, Eric remembers the good times he had and with his girlfriend and believes that one day they will meet again.
