Philippine Immigration requirement for First-time travel
Philippine Passport holder can travel (34) thirty-four countries and teritories wiitout a visa. However, travelers cannot secure an entry into a foreign land with just a passport and round-trip ticket. Before leaving, you must undergo strict immigration procedures.
Offloading– The Immigration Officer (IO) nay tell you that you cannot leave the country. In other words it refuses a passenger to leave a country due to insufficient documentation, inconsistent statements or even threats to safety. Offload can be the worst experience nightmare for some.
Basic requirements to present to Philippine Immigration
There are (3) three main things you must present to the IO Immigration Officer before you are allowed to board:
- Valid Passport (with atleast (6) six months validity). The passport must be in good condition and without visible damage.
- Visa (if applicable)
- E-travel Registration
Besides the (3) three main ones you have they may ask for additional or supporting documents to justify the purpose of your trip.
Supporting Documents for:
1.Self-Funded trips
- Proof of accommodation like hotel booking
- Proof of financial capacity or sources of income
- Bank Certificate
- Online Banking
- Credit-Debit Card
- Business related documents (If have Business)
- Proof of employment si also needed as your proof of roteness to home country
- Certificate of Employment (COE)
- Leave of absence
- Company ID
- Roundtrip Ticket. Passengers must obtain a roundtrip ticket to ensure that they intend to return home.
2.Sponsored by First-degree Relatives Abroad
If your flight is sponsored by first-degree relatives abroad you will need to provide the following travel requirements for international flights.
- Original (PSA) Philippine Statistics Authority issued by certificate or marriage certificate that provides your relationship with the sponsor
- Confirmed roundtrip ticket
- Copy of the sponsor’s valid passport
- Copy of the sponsor’s work visa or permit or equivalent documents
3.Sponsored by other relative abroad
- Notarized original Affidavit of Support and Guarentee (AOSG)
- Confirmed roundtrip ticket
- Original (PSA) Philippine Statistics Authority issued by birth certificate or marriage certificate
4.Sponsored by an unrelated Foreign National
- Notarized original Affidavit of Support and Guarentee (AOSG)
- Subtantial proof of relationship
- Confirmed Roundticket
- If a judicial entry, sponsor’s registration papers
5.As an Government Employee
- Leave of Absence Letter/Form with signature of head Department
- Valid ID/PRC or any ID’s that prove you are a government employee
- Travel Authority
- Confirmed roundtrip ticket
Wihout Sponsor
- Proof Accommodation
- Hotel Booking
- Financial Means
- Bank Certificate
- Online Banking
- Credit/Debit Card
- Travel Health Insurance (If applicable)
Government Employees with Foreign Sponsor
- Affidavit of Support
- Passport / ID copy of your sponsor
- Invitation Letter

- Marriage Certificate (Married)
- Birth Certificate (Relative)
With Local Sponsor
- Affidavit of Support
- Passport / ID copy of your sponsor
- Financial Capability of Sponsor
- Bank Certificate
- Employment Certificate
- Payslip
For Minors Travel
- For married parents with the mother accompanying the minor
- Original (PSA) Philippine Statistics Authority Birth Certificate
- For married parents with the mother not accompanying the minor
- Original (PSA) Philippine Statistics Authority Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate
If the minor will travel abroad without a parent, a Travel Clearance Certificate (TCC) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development is required without it, the child will not be allowed to leave the country.
Requirements for obtaining Travel Clearance Certificate
- Duly accomplished DSWD travel application form
- PSA Birth Certificate including Baptismal certificate, immunization records and school records
- PSA Marriage Certificate (original and photocopy)
- PSA Death Certificate (if one or both of parents is deceased)
- PSA Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) (orignal and photocopy)
- Notarized affidavit of consent that the parents allows the minor child to travel outside the Philippines. It must specify the purpose of the trip along with the date, name of the person who will travel.
- Include a copy of the parent’s or legal guardian’s valid ID with signature.
- (2) two colored passport size pictures of minor child with white background
- Original and photocopy of valid passport of minor travelling companion. If the companion is not a relative of the child, include a notarized affidavit of Undertaking.
- Notarized Affidavit of Support and certified true copy of any evidence to demontrate the sponsor’s financial ability.
