This movie is about the world has magical creatures that manipulate people’s negative emotions, making some as “SEERS” but most people kill themselves when they see the creature. A common method of prevention is to wear a blindfold outside. It is directed by David Pastor & Alex Pastor with a length of 1 hour and 52 minutes. The genre is Horror, Mystery and Sci-fi. Starring Mario Casas (Sebastian ), Georgina Campabell (Claire) and Diego Calva (Octavio).

The film begins in the dark surroundings of a skating ring where Sebastian and his daughter Anna are happily chasing each other inside. Europe has become the victim of an Apocalyptic disaster that has left only a handful of survivors. A magical force capable of manipulating individuals through their negative emotions and driving them to suicide.

Meanwhile Sebastian and Anna heard a noise so they hurried to leave. A group of blindmen came in and attacked Sebastian. Food and supplies were stolen from him. Sebastian was about to try to fight but his daughter Anna stopped him. After their departure Sebastian and Anna wearing black blindfolds came out from inside the building.

On the road Sebastian meets a group of fellow survivors and expresses his desire to join them, However they suspect that Sebastian may pose a threat to their safety. Sebastian deceptively introduces himself as a former construction engineer claiming that he knows how to get a generator to provide light and heat to their place. By manipulating their trust Sebastian was able to gain the trust of the group.

After reaching safety Sebastian and everyone removed their blindfolds. Marcial introduced Sebastian to Liliana a doctor who treated his wounds. During their time there Sebastian notices a cupboard in the wall full of keys. While the groups of survivors are having dinner. Sebastian also met an individual who sewed his own eyes.

This person revealed that although most feared the evil creature some remained unaffected and were able to roam around the city without needing blindfolds. They are called “SEERS”. However, those who do not survive this threat are systematically targeted and killed by “SEERS” who seek to dominate the world.

After dinner, While everyone was inside the bus Sebastian sneaked into the office where he found the keys that revealed the place they were staying was a big bus parking lot. The next morning everyone was still asleep inside the bus, Sebastian took advantage of the opportunity. Liliana wakes up when she notices Sebastian in the driver’s seat and questions his intentions when she sees him trying different bus keys.

As she yells for him to stop Sebastian locks the door to the driver compartment Liliana and Marcial try to stop him with an emergency ax but Sebastian starts the bus and drives around the parking lot intending to escape the compound. As Sebastian drives through the main gates of the parking lot and exits the bus crashes into a pile of old cars resulting in a devastating accident.

The impact damaged everyone with none of the covering their eyes. following Anna’s order Sebastian led them to open their eyes one by one abd exposed them to the blinding light that produced the invisible creature. After witnessing the ENTITY or ALIEN that the movie never showed us each of the individuals started to kill themsleves. Unbeknownst to the others, Sebastian is a “SEERS” who is under the mistaken believe that this creature is a being divine who saves humanity by killing them. His delusions were so profound that he even witnessed dying victims transform into the light of angels and ascend to heaven because he believed that the beast was the angels who played souls to live.

A flashback can be seen where it was (9) nine months ago. When Sebastian was an engineer working on setting up windmills all over Barcelona. While talking to his co-worker he receives a call from his assistant and informs him that his working jumped on the “turbines” causing them to stop. The reason behind this cannot be understood. He rushes to his office while listening to new reports about the global pandemic where people are taking their own lives.

At the office he receives a call from his wife warning him about the situation and urging him to pick up their daughter from school so they can leave Barcelona for good. Sebastian left the office and witnessed the event happening outside. When a body falls into his car it prompts him to head to his daughter’s school while trying to escape with Anna an explosion redirects his path. They went to the church and he met the priest of the local church.

The priest named Father Esteban is calm and accepting of the changes as he inteprets the monsters as holy spirits and the apocalypse as a divine miracle. Despite the challenges Sebastian managed to reach his home but unfortunately his wife was killed by a moving car before they could leave. Sebastian was left alone to take care of their (10) ten years old daughter and he really struggled to survive in the Post-Apocalyptic world.

Sebastian and Anna hide in a secluded location trying to find happiness any way they can. However, their peace was short-lived. One day a group of “SEERS” led by the Pastor discovered where they hiding and captured the father and son because Sebastian himself was a “SEERS” he was not their target.

The pastor forces Anna to open her eyes which leads to her suicide in so much grief Sebastian finds himself haunted by Anna’s apparition. Another form manipulation created by the entity while Sebastian’s optical capacity remained intact. The entity gained control of his mind which ordered him to kill others. He was convinced that following these orders would allow him to be reunited with Anna and her wife after her death.

Returning to the present time, He meets Claire and a group of survivors led by Rafa with his dogs despite the reluctance Rafa allows Sebastian to join their group despite being suspicious of his true nature.

Sebastian used the same tactics he used before to gain their trust. They take him to an underground bomb shelter from the war to escape from the creatures, When Sebastian entered tjhe bomb shelter he notices a group people from different culture. Along with Claire an American and their is a German girl named Sophia who reminds her of Anna.

As the others begin questioning Sebastian about the generators he realizes he has been cornered and has run out of lies. His daughter spirit encourages him to use Sophia bait. In spite of others wanting to banish Sebastian because of his lies. Sophia takes his side and begs them not to hurt her.

Claire asks Sebastian to help understand Sophia’s story. Using his multi-lingual ability he talks to Sophia in German to find out about her separation from her mother. Sophia revealed that she was on vacation with her mother when the mass suicide tragedy occurred.

Her mother did everything to protect Sophia from being affected but they separated while trying to reach Montjuïc a safe and believed distance from the creature. Sophia mentions that she heard about a Mountain Castle that is believed to be a safe place from the entity she sketches a picure of the castle and a cable car that will lead to it.

The group agrees to venture to Montjuïc because there they can get a supply of food and safety inside the fortified castle walls that protect them from the creature. The group exited the bomb shelter and proceeded to safety.

At their first feet stop that night while everyone was sleeping. Sebastian lossened the leash on the dogs. The next day as they tried to reach the next destination they were surrounded by the presence of a being who became strong and controlled their minds despite their blindfolds.

When the entity attacked due to Sebastian removing his blindfolds the dog escaped and the others were very upset. Rafa was hurt because his dogs ran away. He opened the blindfold to look for them and he was affected by the entity and died. The group manages to escape from the entity’s attack but Roberto is bitten by one of the dogs.

After treating Roberto’s wound the group discussed what the entity told them. At this point Octavio points out that the creature are evolved entities capable of easily manipulating and restarting their vision and will and exploiting their weaknesses. He believes the entity uses their pain, trauma and grief to make them die. Sebastian who is permanently manipulated by the entity is just trying to reunite with his daughter and that is why he follows the orders he is told.

The presence of Sophia and Claire reinvigorated him to believe in humanity despite his original intentions. In an attempt to confess the truth, Claire confirms him against Anna because she saw Sebastian gave Sophia necklace of his daughter Anna. When Roberto’s wound flares up. Octavio, Claire and Sebastian look for antibiotics in the apartments.

They entered the apartment one by one and Octavio instructed them to secure all the windows before proceeding. However, Sebastian forced by Anna’s spirit, summons the entity and lies to Octavio saying that the window is secure. Octavio trusting Sebastian removed the cover from his eyes became affceted by the entity and took a knife and committed suicide. Sebastian was surprised because he didn’t witness the glowing light he saw in the important death he caused.

Anna urges him to remove Claire’s blindfold as well but a confused Sebastian hesitant to do so. It appears that Sebastian has finally realized that he is not doing God’s work but instead being manipulated by the devil. The group decided to continue to their destination but they were stopped by people who don’t use blindfolds the “SEERS”. Roberto and his wife surrendered to the entity’s will with a member of the group approaching them on a motorcycle.

Claire, Sophia and Sebastian manage to escape into the building. However Claire suspects Sebastian she feels there is more to him than meets the eye. She took Sophia with her and went to the top of the building while Sebastian continued to be pressured by Anna’s spirit and followed Claire and Sophia. On the rooftop Sebastain followed them and Claire fell and lost consciouseness. Sebastian tried to resist Anna’s order to remove blindfold but for an unknown reason he succeeded in Anna’s spirit.

When Claire wakes up Sebastian tries to convince her that he will lead her and Sophia to the cable car she realizes that her previous action driven by false sadness rather than a true path to be with her daughter.

Claire decides to trust him as Sebastian figths one of the “SEERS” member and they manage to get into a car while being chase by the “SEERS”. Sebastian drove the cat as fast as possible towards the tramway. The “SEERS” followed them to hit them out. Sebastian says goodbye to Sophia and Claire as he distract their pursuers.

Claire led Sophia up the stairs to the control room. Inside the control room Claire discovers that the cable cars are not working. In a smart move she rang a large bell to create a tremor that drove the creature towards them. When the entity arrived the surroundings including the cable cars began to shake.

The entity desperately tries to seduce Claire and Sophia by mimicking the voices of their love ones. However, Claire and Sophia het on one of the cable cars and make it safely to the mountain castle.

Manwhile, In the midst of a violent confrontation, Sebastian injured Father Esteban with an iron, Sebastian himself sustained injuries while fighting. Both men died from their wounds but Sebastian found comfort in knowing that he had successfully guided Claire and Sophia to safety before taking his last breath.

When Claire and Sophia reach the castle they are greeted by soldiers and reunited with Sophia and her mother. Meanwhile Claire is taken to a laboratory where she undergoes a blood test. Claire asked the other researchers about the purpose of the analysis.

One of them explained that they tried to find a chemical indicator an Epigenetic alterations to identify the indications trauma and precisely identify the emotions targeted by the entity. The goal is to develop an Anti-body that will provide immunity against the entity.

The end of the Bird box Barcelona takes us to a medical room especially created to experiment on the blood of a “SEERS”. They captured one of the entities and analyzed blood samples of a “SEERS” by injecting them into lab rats. At the last moment it appears that a “SEERS” is talking them to let him see the creature. The entity is released inside the restricted chamber and the rats can be heard dying proving that the vaccine is still ineffective.
