City Hunter 2024
The movie we are going to read today is about a detective who is looking for the killer of his partner. It was found out that this movie was made by a big organization. It is a Japanese action comedy film released in 2024 called “CITY HUNTER” directed by Yuichi Sato with a duration of 1 hour and 42 minutes starring Ryohei Suzuki (Ryo Seabe), Misato Morita (Kaori Makimura) and Masanobu Ando (Hideyuki Makimura).
In the City of Japan there are several incidents of people disappearing and when they return, they suddenly go on a rampage that doesn’t seem normal anymore. A mysterious woman enlists the help of a so-called City Hunter to find her sister.
City Hunter is a type of private detective developed by Ryo Seabe and his partner Hideyuki Makimura where they receive job request. They currently going to rescue the missing girl named Kurumi. Ryo is also known for his shooting skills and physical abilities, so he can easily take down his opponents without difficulty but the only problem with him is that he is too much of a womanizer.
When Kurumi was safe she ran when she saw Ryo they chased the girl who was trying to run away but they couldn’t find her. The back-up of the group came to take the girl and surrounded them. Then the two (2) of them fought where Hideyuki struggled but Ryo asily defeated the opponents with his ability.
After knocking everyone down, Kurumi jumps to the other building and Ryo follows it but ends up at the bottom and slips while Hideyuki uses the car to follow them. Ryo fell on the road just as the girl passed so the chase continued. When they cornered Kurumi suddenly something happened to her where she jumped very high which is not normal for a human to do so she ran away from them.
Hideyuki picked up something that the child had dropped but he hid it from his partner when Ryo tried to chase the child, the detective Nogami came to stop them from causing trouble in the city and there was a group watching them nearby targeting Hideyuki.
The detective sent the two (2) away because they were busy investigating the rioters, Akitaka Ito also came to take the two but Nogami stopped him. When the two left Ryo notice that Hideyuki had picked up something earlier.
He hid the truth and used the fact that he found out that Kurumi was Costplayer as an excuse. Ryo also brought the partner to their date with his sister Kaori who had waiting for a while because he now intends to tell his sister the truth that they are not real siblings. When Ryo left he met a fast truck and he noticed something.
While at the restaurant, the siblings were talking happily. intending to tell Hideyuki everything but suddenly a truck hit them inside the restaurant. Hediyuki survived the accident but a man came out with something strange and attempted on his life.
He tried to fight back with the knife he got but it was used to kill him while his sister heard it terrified. Ryo also managed to get back to the restaurant but only to find his partner in a bad condition. He was given what the girl had fallen to and entrusted to the care of his brother before taking his life.
Later, Ryo received a new job request where he can be seen at the train station while the police are investigating the video footage obtained in the incident of Hideyuki’s death but it is just like the others. Nogami suspected it was a drug but he had no proof.
Despite this, Kaori looked for Ryo because she was only doing anything after she made a job request to the City Hunter. She asked questions to those who were there but he almost perished but Ryo came and saved her.
The next day Kaori went to Ryp’s house early to look for signs of his brother’s murder. She saw Ryo’s hidden collections about women. When she also entered the dark room she saw a gun. Ryo said it was his brother’s gun and shoot where she was aiming too much.
Days later, the man who killed Hideyuki was found dead, which often happens to those who run rampage. Kurumi was also there watching nearby. Kaori continues to follow Ryo and the City Hunter stops her but she refuses until he accepts the job requests because of that Ryo took her to meet the person.
The group that he encountered at first because the new staff did not know that he was the grandson of their boss Akutsu, It turns out that his grandfather knows that Ryo is investigating his partner’s death which surprises Kaori because she thought he didn’t care. The old man is missing two people , the girl would be their key because of all the missing she was the only one who returned without losing her mind because they suspect that she knows something behind what is happening of Ryo’s interference with them the grandfather has given him the continuation of investigation but warned him to be careful because they thinks the souls of those behind it ate at stake.
When Kaori found out where the girl often hangs out she hurriedly left to look there. Ryo stopped her because it wasn’t that simple but the found the girl there. Kaori immediately approached her to talk to her but Kurumi ran away in fear. She went to disco club with the intention of abducting her.
The girl ran after she escaped while Kaori chased her. Ryo also faced the man’s companion so he couldn’t follow. After getting into trouble while Kurumi was still running away she suddenly weakened and lost consciousness.
When the girl woke up she was at Ryo’s house and she was about to leave but she couldn’t move Kurumi also wondered whey they were following her.
Kaori finds out who kidnapped her but she doesn’t want to talk when Ryo shows her where she fell the girl tells everyone that someone kidnapped her and injected her something. She took them before she ran away from them to report to the police.
Meanwhile, in the organization that has a plan to kidnapped people called “UNION” the organization is strict with erring members and kills them by means of explosives placed on their necks. They use the abductees to experiment.
Ryo learned something from the detective after he sent the medicine. It’s a drug that temporarily strengthens the human body because they go crazy when the effect of the drug wears off and that’s when they die.
When Ryo came home, he found Kurumi wearing a cosplay because she was invited to the cost play event of the lore cosmetics company and she wanted to go but she needed a bodyguard. Ryo refuses because it would be dangerous if she went out. Kaori convinces him to give in to the girl and shows the CEO of Lore photo a beautiful woman who changes his mind.
Later, on the day of the event Ryo is very happy with the girls he sees. The CEO of the company also knows Kurumi because she idolizes her so she invited her. There was an enemy above but Ryo stooped it.
Ryo was about to run away but the woman who requested him for a job came and was a member of the Union. He face her in the fight so he made Kaori and Kurumi ran away. When the two came out and the CEO of the company saw them with the police. Kaori gives Kurumi to the to help Ryo who is currently fighting.
The viewers thought it was all just a show. Ryo blocks himself to save it and shoots the opponent above.
The viewers were so happy that they thought it was all just a show. When Ryo went to look Kurumi Kaori said that she had the police guard her but they couldn’t find her and she didin’t know the name of the police. The woman who fought with Ryo is now is the custody of the police but Nogami was unable to contact the colleague and suddenly it exploded which surprised everyone what happened.
Akitaka was paid by the Union to bring the child to them but before he could leave the money he was carrying was exploded causing him to die as well. Disappointed by what happened Ryo tells Kaori not to interfere again because he promised his brother to protect her.
Kaori vented her anger at the last moment her brother died because she didn’t do anything, now she is determined to hind her brother’s killer and kidnap Kurumi even if she alone.
He immediately prepares to avenge Hideyuki and save Kurumi with Kaori as he now accepts her job request. Meanwhile Lore Cosmetics belong to the Union as it is the frontier of the organization and the are about to complete the medicine made from the child’s blood but the leader of the Union killed the Lore CEO because her role in the organization is over.
He aslo kills all the test subjects as they have found the one who will develop the medicine and now Ryo is heading to Lore’s company after he put the child with a tracker to follow him in case she goes missing.
Nogami also found the body of a fellow policeman and had him investigate. Ryo searched the area and found what appeared to be a deserted laboratory but suddenly armed groups in full battle gear arrived.
When the shooting stopped there Ryo retaliated and fought them face to face while Kaori was the one who gave her the bullet. He knocked out the enemies one by one with his shooting skills but there were too many of them but Ryo came up with a plan.
He made the enemies follow while Kaori opened the tanks another enemy followed Kaori but Ryo saved her because the tanks fell and he used it to blow up the enemies. After that Konno came hiding behind the girl as a hostage.
He knows Ryo and offered him to join their organization which is sure to change his life. Ryo refused because he just wanted to get the justice of his partner’s death but Kunno released one of the creations of the experiment they created and Ryo faced it while Konno ran away with the child.
He took her upstairs to the rooftop where their helicopter would arive. Ryo also sent Kaori up first because she was still facing a fierce battle. Kaori followed on top but there was a glass barries. Ryo continued to fight with the enemy until he was able to kill it with the explosives he had obtained.
The police also arrive outside the lore but they could not get inside. Konno said something to Kaori about her father who used to be a member of the Union who wanted to leave but they made him a test subject. The person who killed him was Hideyuki’s father who in turn killed him.
Konno tried to block the girl but Ryo still hit him. The helicopter also left him after seeing his situation. Kaori wanted to avenge his killing of her entire family but she couldn’t do it.
Ryo just weaned her so that she wouldn’t have to go through more when the helicopter returned to finish off Konno, he intended to take Kaori with him but Ryo killed him first. After that the police entered the building they only saw Kaori and Kurumi after Ryo left the other way.
A few days later, Kaori’s visited her brother’s grave and saw that Kurumi had returned to cost play. In the end Koari decided to become a City Hunter while Ryo refused to be with her.
